Elementary Art Students Win Awards

A big congratulations to the four Island School elementary students who won prestigious awards in the Hawai‘i Convention Center Student Art Exhibition 2016! Three kindergarten students, Lilia Akuna, Lana Bold and Jayden Putman, and fourth grade student Mark Fitzgerald will have their paintings on display for one year, from April 2016 through March 2017 in the Pa Kamali'i Courtyard of the Hawai‘i Convention Center. Their paintings were some of the 96 works selected from elementary schools across the state of Hawai‘i.

These students and their teachers, Becky Snowden and Penny Nichols, will be flown to Honolulu by the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts to attend the awards ceremonies, which will be held at the Convention Center on April 24th. If you travel to Honolulu, be sure to stop and see these wonderful paintings, done to express the theme, "Celebrating Hawai‘i with My Family and Friends".
