4th Graders Perform "Bremen Town Musicians" to Enthusiastic Audience

Congratulations to the 4th grade theatre students on their entertaining performance of "The Bremen Town Musicians" on Thursday. The play was written in "story theatre" style, where the actors are their own narrators. The 19 actors were divided into four groups, switching out roles after each group acted out a portion of the story. They memorized lines, blocked their movements, and created the characters for the donkey, hound, cat, rooster and robbers.

Appreciation for 9th Grade Ho‘okupu

This message appeared in the recent newsletter from the Lawai International Center:

Lawai International Center was the recipient of the graciousness from the 35 ninth graders and faculty of Island School. The Center is sparkling from those caring hands as they continued to uplift Lawai.
We are grateful for the visionary openness of the school to inspire the students that as their hearts move with kindness…so does the entire world.
Students, thank you for your warmth and compassion.
