Housing Wanted Guy Neal will be joining Island School in the fall as a new social studies teacher. Guy, his wife Kathy, and his Labrador retriever are looking for housing, preferably in the Po‘ipu area but they are flexible, starting August 1. They are looking for a 1-or 2 bedroom home or condo (furnished) in the range of $1,750 - $2,000 per month. Alternatively, Guy would consider a short-term lease (no pets) of a furnished studio or 1-bedroom through December while he is trying to sell his home on the Mainland. Kaua‘i Community Players Present "The Rainmaker" This American classic dramatic comedy focuses on Lizzie Curry (Rebecca Hanson), a plain young woman in a family of men, and Starbuck (Ian Foster), a charismatic fast-talker who is hired by Lizzie's father (Morgan Liddell) to make it rain on their drought-stricken ranch. Lizzie and her brothers have become resigned to her being an old maid, but Starbuck shows her that she has a special beauty and she learns to love and to allow herself to be loved. But does it rain?
Directed by I.S. parent, Bard Widmer, "The Rainmaker" will play May 6 through May 22 at the Puhi Theatrical Warehouse, 4411 Kikowaena Street, Lihue, Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 4pm. There will be a reception with the cast and director after the opening night performance. Tickets are $20 with $5 off opening weekend; discounts for KCP members, seniors and students.
