Island School Wins Elementary Science Olympiad!

Please congratulate our elementary Science Olympiad team when you see them. They did their best and came in first overall in the first elementary level Kaua‘i Science Olympiad at KCC last Saturday! Their teamwork and support for each other was exemplary.

Besides the first place overall win, our students brought home five first place, three second place and one third place medal!

Our team includes: 5th grade - Thatcher Magoun, Kilinoe Oliveira; 4th grade - Dylan Watanabe, Titus Schweitzer, Connor Tavares, Kai Spindt, Kaelen Suzuki-Kaohi, Zach Ing, Anuhea Ke; 3rd grade: Aria Cuthbertson; 2nd grade - Max Evslin (Max joined the team as a Lego League veteran.) Titus, unfortunately, became ill and was unable to compete.

Many thanks to Sue Macklin, Cristy Peeren and Erin Cobb-Adams for coaching our team, and to Jeff Kozak and Traci Sullivan for being terrific mentors.
