High School Drama Students Get Lesson in Theatre Make-Up

Many thanks to master make-up artist, Ben Miller, for visiting the high school drama students on Tuesday afternoon. The cast of the production, "Comedy, Past & Present" rehearsed their show during the teacher work day, ending with an hour-long make-up workshop. They learned how shadows and highlights are the secrets to transforming a person into a character.

Ben Miller transforms Ian Cowden '15, into Argan, the Imaginary Invalid.

This year's high school production is split into two parts: MoliƩre's French comedy, "The Imaginary Invalid," followed by live Improv Comedy. The show opens Friday, March 20th and runs one weekend only. Show times are:
  • Friday, March 20 - 7pm
  • Saturday, March 21 - 7pm
  • Sunday, March 22 - 4pm
Improv students ham it up in class.

Tickets are $5 and are available at the door, at the front Office, or from cast members.

High School students can be admitted free of charge with their Student Activities Card.

5th Grade Class Sings at Lihu‘e Mill Bridge Blessing

Last week Wednesday, our 5th grade students helped Kumu Kauka at the blessing of the new Lihu‘e Mill Bridge. The entire class sang an oli, "Aloha No Kaua‘i," for the gathering. They were among the prominent members of our island community there to commemorate the opening of what will soon be a four lane highway. The first two lanes opened on Monday.

Rydan Williams, Cody Manibog & Josh Dobashi fill the gourd with spring water for the blessing.
