Island School Wins FIRST Lego League Competition!

Island School hosted 10 teams representing 9 schools across the island. The students spent the morning presenting their ideas, demonstrating team work, and describing their robots to a panel of judges made up of community leaders from various companies on Kaua‘i. Even superintendent of schools, Bill Arakaki, was on hand to judge one of the project rooms. In the afternoon, the Wilcox Gym was packed with spectators watching the students compete in the robot game. The teams programmed autonomous robots to complete specific tasks to earn big points.
Teams competing in this contest were trying to secure a spot in the state tournament that will be held on O‘ahu on Dec. 5th.
