Biology Students Crawl Inside of Enormous Cell

A typical plant cell is 30 micrometers long, but our inflatable cell was 3 meters long. Mrs. Sullivan's students did the math to calculate the scaled size of an assigned organelle, they created a scale model of the organelle, and entered the cell with the organelle. (Yes, all of them went into the cell which was inflated using a bounce house blower!) Each student also presented the anatomy and physiology (form and function) of his/her organelle to the rest of the class.
