Island School Students Win Awards in Kaua‘i Youth Photo Challenge

Congratulations to Anne Cushnie '17, Aliana Ho '18, and Amber Asuncion '21, for being selected as winners in the Kaua‘i Youth Photo Challenge. The challenge was offered to youth in grades 6-12. Photo entrees had to answer one of the following questions:
  • “What would you like to see MORE of on Kaua`i?”
  • “What would you like to see LESS of on Kaua`i?”
Aliana's photo won first place in the High School Division. She won $200 and a Go-Pro Hero 3.

Anne won 2nd place in the High School Division. She won a $100 prize.

Amber's was awarded 3rd place in the Middle School Division. She won a $50 prize.

"The photos tell an important story and we hope that the community comes out to see them.  They show what we all love about Kaua'i and also provide important clues for how we can be doing a better job for our young people," said Mark Hubbard, co-chair of Keiki to Career.

Top 50 photos will be selected for a photo exhibit at Kaua'i Community College from October 2-27 in the One-Stop Building lobby. The Grand Opening of the VIP (Very Important Photographer) Photo exhibition is from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. on October 2. The VIP Exhibit is open to the public.
