Art Students are Getting Creative

This trimester two high school juniors, Anne Cushnie and Gabri LaFratta are engaged in Independent Study in art. With the help of their teacher, Penny Nichols, they each designed their own syllabus, writing a course description and objectives.

Anne is exploring digital photography and painting. Gabri is working on drawing and other two-dimensional media, focusing on portraiture.

Here are two of their recent works:
a digital photo that Anne took with a macro lens, and one of Gabri's pencil drawings.

Colby Barth, a seventh grade student, just finished this design, called a Zen Tangle. He began with overlapping circles, then added patterns, colors, and textures.
