Students in the middle school music elective will explore a variety of musical skills and topics. Activities and experiences include expressive singing in unison and in parts; instrumental instruction and performance; and reading, notating, listening and responding to music. Students will be playing chimes, ukulele, and other instruments to create counter melodies or accompany singing. The students also perform as the Island School 'Opio Chorus in public concerts and at other school functions. Students have already begun playing the ukulele as well as learning songs for the winter concert at KCC.
