Tomorrow, Thursday, the third part of the Sophomore Project will take place, beginning at 3:15 p.m. The humanities faculty members will meet with the sophomore class members to discuss these five themes: leadership, government, the role of community, defiance and human rights as they relate to U.S. History and American Literature.
The Sophomore Project is an ongoing collaborative effort between the U.S. History and the American Literature curricula. Sophomores learn how to write a thesis paper in their American Literature class and a position paper in their U.S. History class. Tomorrow's Round Table Discussion synthesizes what they've learned in a question and answer session with the English and social studies faculty. The class will be divided into three discussion groups.
Parents are invited. Check the Mokihana door for room assignments. Mahalo to Laura Cushnie for providing light refreshments immediately following the discussions.
