Ceramics Students Learn Raku Firing

High school ceramics classes went on a field trip this week to Kilohana Clayworks where they participated in a raku workshop. The students brought the ceramic masks they made in their classroom. At Clayworks they applied special raku glazes and helped fire them, using this ancient Japanese technique.

Reilley Gorman and Maya Rivera, class of 2018, apply raku glazes to their masks.

Can you guess who's behind these raku masks?
