7th Graders Study Diversity of Invertebrates

The 7th grade scientists are studying the diversity of invertebrate life.  These students are becoming experts about a specific kingdom/phylum and they will share what they know with their science peers.

James Pratt and Olivia McSweeny collected these fungi from the mushroom farm in Lawai.  They will lead the students in an activity using dissecting microscopes to see the microscopic parts of these mushrooms.

Conor Hunt and Maka Oliveira are practicing a squid dissection so they can lead their class in this learning experience.  The students are creating jeopardy games, collecting protists from the pond, and running arthropod races.  Instructor, Traci Sullivan says, "Science is the best!"
