Chorus Concert Made Us Merry and Bright

Bob's thoughtful comments:
Aloha kakou -- It seems we go from one triumph to another. The Winter Concert last evening, All is Merry and Bright, truly was amazing. Congratulations to Philip, Rosie, and the students. From the opening Heralds to the closing full entourage, there simply was no down time. Things moved without a hitch, the genius of programming and stage management clearly evident, though unobtrusive. Things simply happened, one after the other, in proper order, with students on their best behavior and performing with personality and style.
The feeling was upbeat, including Linus and Lucy (based on comic characters) dedicated to Island School graduate, Christy Mayfield. There were two student accompanist, Allison Summerhays and Michael Miller, each of whom played with poise and perfection. There were violinists, bell wringers, tap dancers, a trumpet, finger cymbals, tambourines, and a glockenspiel. There were gifts/props galore, and appropriate antics. The evening was entertaining and inspirational.
From my standpoint, an interesting aspect of the event is the number of staff members who assist with the production. Listed on the printed program were 23 such individuals, from box office attendees to wardrobe assistants. It takes a village to make a concert! These behind-the-scene individuals deserve recognition and applause as well.
To one and all, hearty thanks and appreciation. Last night's concert was special, reminding us down deep of the joys and delights of the holiday season.

More pictures will be up on the Island School Shutterfly site soon.
