Boy Scouts Troop 133 Accepting New Members
Boys ages 11-18 who are interested in joining Boy Scouts are invited to contact troop leader Mike Kano - Ph: 808 651 3332 or Meetings are every Tuesday night, 7-8 pm, at the Kapa‘a United Church of Christ (Next door to Kaua‘i Marine & Mower). For boys that are into the outdoors this is the perfect thing.

Casting Call for Personal Photo/Video Shoot(s)
Kevin ( is working on a few personal projects to expand his resort and lifestyle portfolio of still and motion photography while in Kauai from Dec 4-19, 2014.
He is looking for talent/models to participate in approximately 2-hour blocks of time one or more of the  following possible shoot days: Mon. 12/8Tues. 12/9Wed. 12/10Tues. 12/16Wed. 12/17, or Thurs. 12/18
Regarding shooting scenarios:  We will have some beach set ups - lounging, walking and water play, some camping near a beach with a VW Westfalia Camper, some restaurant/food/lifestyle, some shopping, etc.  
We need to set up individuals, a few couples and a small group of 2-3 "friends" to use in various scenes.  We are targeting mature adults, 35-60, of varied ethnicity and genders who appear to be healthy, attractive, active and affluent professionals or young retirees at work or play.
We will be available to meet with interested talent between Friday December 5 and Monday December 8.  We plan to be at the HA Coffee Bar on 180 Rice St #101a, in Lihue on Saturday Dec 6 between 2-4 p.m. and on Sunday Dec 7 from 1-3 p.m. for open casting calls.
Compensation negotiable: $50-100/hour depending upon experience.

Kaua‘i Winter Math Enrichment Program
Math Enrichment Classes for students currently in grades 2 (more advanced students only), 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 this fall of 2014.This math enrichment program will involve using math manipulatives to explore math concepts and will involve solving math problems and math puzzles. Students who are fluent in math facts are welcomed to attend the program.

Dates*: December 29, 2014 to January 8, 2015 (no classes January 1, 2015)
Place: Wilcox Elementary School
Time: 9:00am - 1:30pm
Cost: $320 for 8 days sessions and $20 non-refundable registration fee

This program is designed to reinforce the math concepts and skills through use of math manipulatives and puzzles. State certified and experienced math teachers will teach students the strategies to use critical thinking skills to solve rigorous math problems, which may or may not address the Common Core Math Standards. To motivate students and allow them to have fun learning, cooperative learning and playing math games will be part of this program.
