Voyager JV Volleyball Girls Win Over Waimea

The Voyagers JV Volleyball team beat Waimea at home on Tuesday, 25-21, 15-25, 25-12, for their first win of the season! There are ten girls on the team, two sophomores and eight freshmen. Kehau Regidor, former assistant coach for Waimea and Kaua‘i High volleyball player, is coaching our team for the first time this year.

Our team includes:
Sophomores: Alaya Mallas and Salisa Pegeder
Freshmen: Sydney Agudong, Bianca Colagreco, Kenz Hubbard, Emma Kelekoma, Julia Massaro, Summer Mead,  Emily Sullivan and Lola Temme.

Following the JV win, our varsity girls played really well. "The excitement of the JV win was contagious," said Jen Pomroy, assʻt AD. They held the lead in the first two sets. The varsity team, coached by Brad Sato, is a young team, with few players. The experience they are gaining this year will surly make them contenders next year.

Both teams are really pumped up for their next game this Friday, October 17, starting at 5:00 at the Kaua‘i High gymnasium. Come out and cheer the Voyagers!

The JV win was featured in todayʻs Garden Island. According to Jen, some of Dennis Fujimotoʻs information isnʻt quite correct. "This isnʻt our first win ʻin history,ʻ" she said. You can read Fujimotʻs article at this link:
