Dancers from Nā Pua O Kamaile, Island Schoolʻs halau, joined Papa Laua'e o
Makana halau under the direction of Kumu Kauka's hula sister Kumu
Mauliola Cook, at this year's Eo E Emalani celebration in Koke'e this
past
Saturday. I.S. parents,
Aimee and Jeremy Brown, were the group's musicians for the two 'auana (modern) numbers.
Kumu Kauka is off-island but she wanted the halau to have the
experience of dancing in this non-competitive sharing of hula to honor
Queen Emma.
