Aaron Brown was a familiar face around campus as a substitute teacher before he was hired as a full time teacher this year. Besides teaching 6th & 7th grade social studies, Aaron serves as 6th grade homeroom teacher.
An army vet, Aaron served in Iraq in 2003. He returned to California and earned a BA from University of California, Northridge. He was working on his Masters in Philosophy from Cal State LA when he and his wife decided to move to the Garden Island in 2012. They live in Lihu'e with their two 5 month old terriers.
"A lot of people recommended Island School to me when they found out I was looking for a teaching job," said Aaron. "Everyone has been really helpful. The campus is beautiful and people have a positive attitude. I'm enjoying the kids," he added. "They're bright and eager to learn."
