Interact Club Elects Their VP

Seniors Whitney Hay and Genevieve Foster ran for the position of vice president of Interact Club on Wednesday, October 1st during lunch. They both gave powerful, thoughtful speeches. Genevieve won and will serve as vice president with President Amber Hopkins for the rest of the 2014-2015 school year.

Interact Club is looking forward to a busy, community minded year. They already have six events planned. The first will take place next Tuesday, October 7th. Fifteen Interact members signed up to meet at Island School's Main Hall from 9-4 to attend an island-wide Interact conference.  They will learn and begin to implement strategies on how to best help and serve Kaua‘i's diverse, rural community.

Interact is a Rotary Club sponsored organization for teenagers aged 14-18. Interact stands for International Action and carries out projects based on four main elements, Community Service, Finance, International Understanding and Club Service. Dave Reynolds is Island Schoolʻs Interact adviser.
