Volunteers Help Students Plant Plumeria Trees

On Wednesday, a crew of volunteers came to school to help members of the Class of 2014 plant their class gift of plumeria trees on the east side of the Wilcox Gymnasium. The six trees, will provide a colorful addition to this area of campus as well as much-used flowers for Island School events. The Class of 2014 would like to thank the following for helping them make their gift to Island School:
  • Brett Tourigny, Josh Bowen & Bill Cowern of Hawaiian Mahogany, Inc. for digging holes;
  • Sandy Nishek and Kaua‘i Nursery and Landscaping for bringing the trees to the site and helping with the planting;
  • Senior dads, Terrill Pratt and Lon Malapit who helped dig the holes;
  • Senior moms, Jeri Cook and Lianne Malapit for bringing refreshments
  • Eddie Acierto of Acierto Construction for cementing the plaque post in place.

 "Da Crew" finished the job.

 Austin Cook, Makali‘i Pratt, Kellan Wortmann and Lansen Eto represented their class.
